God's Holy Word & Our: Fellowship With Christ Jesus
Words for today from the Holy Bible and from the dictionary

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Philippians 2:1-2
sporadic [spuh-RAD-ik]
Example: Sporadic fellowship with God leads to a Christian life that is also erratic.
Fellowship with the Spirit of our Lord is associated with our humbleness and faith. How can we have such a fellowship if we are not loyal to our prayer time? Or if we are not having fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, or we are living an in-and-out fellowship. The very word faith itself implies hanging on, being persistent, and being consistent. A sporadic relationship with the Lord will bring a roller coaster of emotions. One day happy, the next sad, and sometimes totally bewildered.
We all need to learn what Job said, “Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” We can’t have a proper fellowship with God as a “Sunny Day Christian,” and then repetitively turn away from him when the storms of life come. Nor can we do the opposite, and be very attentive to God when we are experiencing trouble and then ignore him when things are good. Decide today to consistently draw near to God, and he will help you in the day of trouble.
